On May 22, 2017, my boyfriend and I made a trip to It Takes a Village. That day we were “just looking” at the dogs to get an idea of what we may be getting ourselves into, little did I know I was going to come home with the best friend I could ever ask for. On May 22, 2017, we brought home a dog that had a story, he was very confused and quiet. I didn’t really know what to do, he was scared of the toys we bought him and only wanted to lay in his kennel. I made it my goal to help this dog feel more comfortable and confident, and prove to him that this home is forever his.
May 2018, I now have a perfect buddy. Kylo has come such a long way, from being scared of his toys, to now picking them up and bringing them to me! He loves to play fetch, and loves to carry his stuffed animals around the house with him. We go on walks everyday and he is so well behaved. He has learned to walk next to me, and be respectful of other people and animals around him. In the past year, he’s learned so many tricks that he could run a circus by himself!
I cannot thank It Takes a Village enough for how much they helped me, I needed Kylo just as much as he needed me, and I don’t know where I would be today if I hadn’t gone to the shelter on May 22, 2017.
Thank you so much to the patient and loving staff at It Takes a Village, you have done so much for both of us!
